Space X Mars Robotic Mission Red Dragon Deferred To 2020

Space X will launch the Mars Robotic mission, Red Dragon, in 2020 instead of 2018. Announcing the new plan, SpaceX president Gwynne Shotwell said the changed schedule will be to organize more resources and add focus on Falcon Heavy Program. (Wikipedia)

Apple Comes Fifth, Amazon Ranked Top, in Company Reputation Poll

Apple is the fifth most reputable major company active in the U.S. according to an annual poll that gauges public perception of 100 consumer brands (via The Korea Herald).

The Reputation Quotient Ratings from the 2017 Harris Poll are based on an online survey completed by over 30,000 adults in the U.S. The survey analyzes brand reputation across six gauges: social responsibility, vision and leadership, financial performance, products and services, workplace environment, and emotional appeal.

Oppo teases new mobile camera technology ahead of MWC

We've entered crunch time for getting all of those last minute teasers out before the kick of Mobile World Congress, the year's biggest smart phone show. Some have been cagey around their big news ahead of the event in Barcelona, while others, like LG haven't left much all that to the imagination.

Oppo, the rising-est star in a Chinese market full of them, is playing its cards close to the vest with its own announcement. The company, which sprung to the top of China's smartphone sales last year, thanks to a 122-percent year-on-year increase in sales, isn't talking device yet, so much as underlying technology.

Xiaomi to announce its Pinecone mobile chipset this month

Following reports from earlier this month, today Xiaomi confirmed on Weibo that it will be announcing its very own mobile chipset, named after its subsidiary " Pinecone," in Beijing on February 28th. Little else is mentioned, but rumors going as far back as October are pointing to a Mi 5c aka "Meri" as the first device to carry this chip. Multiple Geekbench results suggest that the phone features an octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM and runs on Android 7.1.1 (even though the leaked prototypes still show Android 6.0).

Apple included a nifty hidden camera mode in the latest version of its iPhone software, iOS 10. 

"Magnifier" mode uses the iPhone's camera to magnify text or other small things — handy, especially, for reading fine print, or zooming in on small details.

The hidden mode can also adjust brightness and color, which is useful for people who may have issues seeing specific colors.
